Lima is the capital: of Peru located on the arid Pacific coast of the country. Although its colonial center is preserved, it is an overflowing metropolis and one of the largest cities in South America. The Larco Museum houses a collection of pre-Columbian art and the Museum of the Nation traces the history of the ancient civilizations of Peru. The Plaza de Armas and the 16th century cathedral are the core of the old center of Lima.

Day 1: Flight from Europe, USA, Canada, etc - Country of origin to Peru - Flight to Arequipa
Arrival to Lima and flight to Arequipa via Lima. A member of our local partner will be waiting for you at the Arequipa airport to transfer you to the hotel. At 1pm you will meet your tour guide at the lobby for the next 2 weeks. On foot, we then go on an exploration tour. Arequipa, 2335 m, the magnificent colonial city built of white tuff, is framed by mighty volcanic cones. Including the 6076 m high, mostly covered with a snow cape Volcano Chachani. They will visit the Cathedral of Arequipa, which is unique because of its façade, as well as the monastic city of Santa Catalina. The Iglesia de la Compañia combines Mestizo and Baroque styles. Day 2: Our local guide - Bike Check Sightseeing Arequipa
The first exit of your Moutainbike Crossing Peru will take you from Arequipa to the Yura Valley on the western slope of the Chachani, 6075 m. The homonymous place - known for its hot springs - is the destination of the tour, which is mainly for acclimatization. The length of the route is therefore flexibly adapted to the group before you cycle back to Arequipa. Dinner together and hotel accommodation. Overnight Hotel (B/-/-)
Day 3: Arequipa - Drive to Chivay
After a hearty breakfast start your mountain bike adventure Peru. They will be well looked after, a local guide will provide extra support and a support vehicle will be taking care of the group throughout the tour. From Arequipa it goes continuously, partly on paved secondary roads over the zona plana pampa, 4860 m, up to the Patapampa pass 4900 m. Part of the route is covered by bus, because you are at the beginning of your tour and you have to get used to the altitude. A magnificent descent brings you down to Chivay, 3660 m, the charming town at the foot of the Patapampa Pass is a popular destination for many tourists and the starting point for visiting the Colca Canyon, 4500 hm. Day 4: Chivay - Colca Canyon - Chivay
From Chivay you drive vehicles through the villages of Yanque and Maca up to the Colca Canyon, which is 1200 meters deep, the second deepest gorge in the world. Once at the top, the vantage point "Cross of the Condor" rewards you with unique views. Maybe you are lucky and can observe one of the majestic birds. Now it's off to Chivay on a beautiful route high above the canyon. Hotel accommodation in Chivay.

Day 5: Chivay - Panoramic trip to Lake Titicaca - Puno
After the first three days of driving, enjoy a panoramic bus ride from Chivay via the Cruz Alto, 4528 m, to Puno, 3800 m (6 h / 280 km). You move into the rooms of your hotel, which is located in the center of Puno. In the afternoon you will visit the floating Urus-Idian Islands by motorboat. Overnight Hotel (B/L/D)
Day 6: Puno - Biking Lampa
After a short bus ride you will marvel at the most navigable waters of the earth the Chullpas of Sillustani, tombs of the Collca and Inca. Well rested, get back on your bike and pedal on a relatively level track to Lampa, 3000 m. The sleepy city is also popularly known as "Pink City" because it was built of pink shimmering tufa. The overnight stay takes place in a former hacienda on the spot.

Day 7: Lampa - Puya Raimondis - Tinajan Canyon - Ayaviri
The queen stage takes us on a lonely route into the untouched hinterland. On the dirt road it goes past small settlements to our current destination, the two double passports, 4600 m, up. We will then be rewarded with a magnificent descent past the famous Puya Raimondis, bromeliads that can grow up to ten meters into the imposing landscape of the Tinajan Canyon. Now it is not far to Ayaviri, 3920 m, our today's destination. Overnight in a simple hotel.

Day 8: Ayaviri - Pass at (4550 m) - Laguna Langullayo - Sicuani
Today begins with a transfer away from the mainline. We start at an altitude of 4300 meters. In a pleasant slope we reach our current pass at 4550 meters. Now begins a fantastic downhill, past Lama - and Alpaca herd and colorful grain leather down to Laguna Langullayo. Along the lake shore it goes up to the main road. From here we let it pleasantly down to Sicuani, 3720 m. The night takes place in a small hotel.

Day 9: Sicuani - The Raqchi Temple - Andahuaylillas
This stage takes you on a beautiful, flat stretch, into the Sacred Valley. The Raqchi Temple, one of the most important archaeological sites in Peru, is a welcome visitation stop. After a short ascent you go on asphalted branch line with wonderful views of the numerous lagoons along the way. A short bus transfer brings us to Andahuaylillas, where we admire the "Sistine Chapel of South America". Overnight in a cozy hacienda in Andahuaylillas. 63 km, 550 m ↑ 700. Overnight Hostel (B/L/D)
Day 10: Andahuaylillas – Pisac - Sacred Valley to Urubamba
A short leg takes us from Andahuaylillas to Pisac, a former Inca mountain fortress in Peru. On foot and by bike we visit the historic walls of the impressive settlement. After a market visit, we continue to the Sacred Valley to Urubamba. The overnight stay takes place in a hotel. 42 km, 200 m ↑ 300 hm ↓. Overnight Camp (B/L/D)
Day 11: Pisac - Chincero - Moray - Urubamba valley - Ollantaytambo
A short transfer takes us up to Chincero today. A wonderful place known for its textile arts and crafts. After sightseeing, we take a scenic route past the giant Inca greenhouses in Moray back to the fertile Urubamba valley. In the most beautiful afternoon light we reach Ollantaytambo. The bustling city, whose planning is still from the Inca period, it is in the evening to explore. Your hotel is located just outside the village.

Day 12: Ollantaytambo - Biking Pass Malaga Pass (4315 m) St. Maria - Santa Teresa
A transfer will take you to Abra Malaga Pass, 4315 m. Enjoy a 70 km long downhill in subtropical climes to St. Maria, 1430 m - 3000 meters are it from the pass to the village - small counter-rises included! The road meanders from snow-capped Andes mountains into the rainforest. Pineapples, mango and papaya plantations line the road and thrive alongside coffee, coca and tea. A rushing downhill, followed by a demanding ascent: At "crisp" slope, a good 700 meters in altitude are climbed, the thighs are challenged and you have reached the summit at 2100 meters. From here you roll comfortably downhill to Santa Teresa. An impressive bike day comes to an end.

Day 13: Hydro Electrica - Walk or Train to Aguas Calientes - Nice Hotel
The wheels are packed and you walk with luggage for one night to the station "Hydro Electrica". From here, trains start to Aguas Calientes, 2000 meters, at the foot of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu. In the lively places you will find a variety of restaurants and souvenir shops. A market, near the train station, invites you to shop. Let yourself be enchanted by the hustle and bustle of the town, perhaps with a coffee in the Plaza. Day 14: Aguas Calientes - Visit Machu Picchu - Go back by train - Ollantaytambo private bus to Cusco
The walk through Machu Picchu in the early morning is an experience: you walk in the footsteps of the Incas through the first discovered in 1911 "Lost City". Afternoon return by train to Ollantaytambo and continue by bus to Cusco. Arrival in the evening. The night takes place in a hotel, within walking distance to the city. Overnight stay Hotel. Day 15: Cusco - Sacsayhuaman, the water sanctuary Tampu Machay and the Qenco - Cusco
On the trail of the Incas, you will visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the water sanctuary Tampu Machay and the Kenkko Amphitheater on a hike high above Cusco. There will be time for the Indian market in the afternoon. Street vendors, striking faces, a flood of colors and impressions.

Day 16: Cusco transfer to airport - Flight back to Lima
The return journey begins with the transfer to the airport of Cusco. With the LAN you first fly to Lima. There, an English-speaking city guide will welcome you and take a walk around the most beautiful sights in the Plaza Mayor. You stay in a comfortable hotel in one of the most beautiful parts of Lima. Day 17: Cusco transfer to airport - Flight back to home
